semi kills aleeex

my friend aleeex is a cautious man. as he tells it, he was cruisin down the freeway in the slow lane. before he knew it, he was staring at the back of a semi's front wheels. the trucker had not seen him and tried to switch lanes, ripping into my friends car! metal and glass exploded into the air around him! aleeex turned his wheel, freeing himself from underneath this juggernaut and found himself driving straight into a wall! he swiftly swung his car to the left and narrowly escaped certain doom! his mangled wreck of a 4 cylinder stumbled to a pitiful crawl and then stopped near an exit. the trucker pulled over a little ways down. for any mere mortal, a collar bone and a brain would have been lost in this ordeal. but aleeex is risen. there is not a scratch on this humble cartoonist of child pornography. that afternoon, he tells me all about it. and just in case i am one day mowed over by a gargantuan cud chewer, i ask, "what was your strategy?" he responds, "it's all in the reflexes."

max payne

this is from the new max payne game. saw it on a mag and thought it would be good to learn some coloring tricks. yes its true- i did this on a scratch piece of paper from work. that is a tom kelly stamp bottom center and indeed, that is a hole in the paper to the right. so. the background is a sharpie and max is all prismacolor art stix. and i dont think i'll use those again cuz they have their limit in blending. hope you like...

here they are. joey and eli revisioned. these are the actual drawings that are being used for the cartoon that my roommates and i are currently working on. should be done pretty soon.

first joey diablo sketches

i drew these mild caricatures for a man looking to make a cartoon. its of himself and his brother as children. this pic got me the job as character designer for his "joey diablo" cartoon. they started out very accurate to the photos i was given but then realizing the nature of the story, i soon opted for a more simplified and traditional cartoon style.

bane!

friend at work was drawing a nice detailed picture of bane smashing the batman symbol. very clean. so i challenged him with my signature slop style! slop! eat it! eat up the slop tony! markers.

candy wants her money!

a quick sketch i did of my co-worker at disney. she recently did a string of parties and theyve made her wait over a month to get paid! shes an awesome cartoonist. i fully endorse her.

this is something i saw from a video game that looks awesome. at the moment, the name escapes me. i kinda rushed through this one but, i'm thinking of doing another one from a different snapshot of the same game. done with prismacolor art stix and marker

i did this with sharpies and prismacolor markers. dont ask me why i did man thing. i know just as much about man thing as the next guy. maybe less. he looks like swamp thing's igor.

i was watching "the kids in the hall" on dvd and between each one of their comedy sketches they have some miscellaneous black and white home videos. one of them showed this little girl opening her mouth in slow motion. kinda weird.

jamie who

this was a beautiful girl i knew when i was younger and stupider. stupid that i never made a move on a friend as fine as she was. she was afro thai american. very smart. bitingly observant. she was very good at exposing your demons. and that was the primary reason i stopped talking to her. this is a cartoon but trust me-she was, top to bottom, one the most beautiful friends i ever had.

clouseau!

peter sellers as inspector clouseau- "chief inspector!" from the original pink panther movie series. this man had a great face for comedy. on top of being funny and likeable on screen, ive always found his features fascinating.

turtles are terrible to interact with. they seem to be pretty displeased with anyone. but they are fun to draw. heres a quick sketch that i like.

ho ho ho. i did this free hand. salright. i like markers. theres something satisfying about the color just gliding out in a full even stream.

its been a slow year for live caricatures so ive been filling my time with drawing random things at work. this drawing is of a toy based on a ghoul from "world of warcraft". i think.

this is amy sedaris as gerri blank from the cult hit "strangers with candy". at first glance of the show i was like, "what the @#!* is this?!" thats probly why it got cancelled. because of me. but its actually better than bad.

this is an old friend of mine named erik griffin. i havent seen this guy in forever but i had an old photo of him laying around. hes got great character. i had to do it.

weird johnny

this was initially a lazy attempt at johnny depp. it started with a very loose sketch but i was left alone in a car, waiting for a friend for a good while. so i spent my time shading it in until it looked like this.
